Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The film Piano won her several awards including an Oscar. The talented actress began her acting career on the stage with an array of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. The art of acting has been a constant passion. When she was in fifth grade, she played Helen Keller in an original production. When she was in the fifth grade following a bout of mumps, she lost hearing in the left ear. But she didn't let that stop her. She studied drama at college after which she moved to Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her dreams. After a casual encounter, she was stuck in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart that made Hunter's debut. After that, she made the move into Los Angeles and tried to find films roles. The film, Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. Her professional career spans over 30 years and she's appeared in many TV movies as well as series and films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
