Boettcher began her acting career at the age of 4 and was best known as Melody Fuller, in Amazon Studios Original Series Gortimer gibbon's Life on Normal Street. She launched her acting career in 2005 and became known for her role as the lead character Melody Fuller in the adventure family fantasy series Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street. In 2011, Ashley was selected to voice Jessica Finch in the family comedy Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer and was recognized in 2012 when the role was given to her voice as well as rats in the popular animated comedy Ernest & Celestine that starred Forest Whitaker Lambert Wilson and Pauline Brunner and follows the friendship between Ernest the bear and Celestine the mouse. The movie received fourteen of the 29 nominations it was awarded, which included the Oscar.
